Research progress on the nano-silica and leather interactions: mechanisms, characterizations method

  • The types of interactions that exist between nano silica and leather , such as hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces, chemical bonding, etc., and the current characterization methods were introduced. The application of nano silica in the leather production process is introduced, which can be used in leather as tanning agents, finishing agents, etc., to improve the performance and the stability of leather, its effect is better than traditional materials, as well as the development of functional leather is introduced. The future research on nano silica and leather is prospected.
