Solid State Fermentation Bioreactor and Its Application in the Propagation of Organic Pollutant Degrading Microorganisms

  • Solid state fermentation(SSF) is increasingly used in the production of fermented food, feed processing, biopharmaceuticals, microorganisms for environmental protection and so on. The development of SSF bioreactor has subsequently become a research focus. In SSF, a key common technical problem to be solved is how to design reactors and realize automatic and intelligent control of the fermentation process according to the characteristics parameters such as raw material difference, mass transfer demand, open environment, and scale-up. The types and characteristics of SSF bioreactors and their related research and application progress were reviewed. It is suggested that the propagation of organic pollutant degrading inoculum be expanded by means of SSF bioreactors, which is suitable for China's national conditions.
