Abstract:
The sulphur emission regulations for ocean-going vessels have been fully implemented since 2020. Closed sodia-alkali desulphurization washing tower system is one of the effective means to meet the requirements of sulfur emission control sea area. Random packing tower is the key factor affecting the performance of the system. This paper designed a sodium-alkali desulphurization washing tower system based on Aspen Plus software, and studied the influence of the type, material and type of bulk filler on the performance of the system based on the database of the software. The results show that the mailer ring VSP has the best performance and the minimum design diameter and pressure drop per unit height. Compared with plastic and ceramic materials, metal materials are more suitable for the application of sodium-alkali desulfurization scrubbing tower system in ships. Super ring structure as the fourth generation of bulk packing, compared with other kinds of bulk packing, its comprehensive performance is the best.
